Well Read Bear

This is Wee-Read Bear who has been designed by Woodcocks Well Primary School and can be found near Mount Pleasant Post Office.

The story starts at the top and winds down to the feet.  It is a story made up by the children at school based on the Moon bears dreaming of escape from captivity and riding in a rocket to Mow Cop Castle where it is invited to stay.  The story has small illustrations to depict some of the powerful nouns in the story.

and this is his story...

How the Bear Got There

Once upon a short time ago in China, there lived a small Moon Bear. Every night Moon Bear gazed up at the moon and sighed. How he wished he could get a closer look.

One day during Chinese New Year celebrations he had a wonderful  idea. He built a giant firework rocket and shot off to the mood.

He walked round and round until he was quite dizzy. Suddenly he was falling. As he fell, a beautiful rainbow came and he slid on it back down to Earth.

He landed with a bump! Right on top of Mow Cop Castle.

As he fell the rocks started to crumble and Moon Bear slip off and began to roll down the hill. He rolled and rolled. He rolled straight past the school and landed right on the village green.

He looked around and liked it so much he decided to stay.
