Dawn Gibbins sums up what so many people are thinking: The Timbersbrook Project Nature Reserve was created by Leo Dean on eight acres of his land with the support of sponsors. He did not charge people for visiting; it was totally free - a sparkling jewel in our community’s crown. The Council moved, removed all Leo’s well kept beautiful animals and bulldozed all his hard work. All the wonderful buildings where chickens, rabbits, hares, peacocks, turkeys, ostriches, goats, donkeys, pigs lived have been destroyed. This is victimization of the highest degree. How could Cheshire East be so vicious? Even the training room, where talks on nature inspired thousands of children has been destroyed. Catherine, Leo's partner is devastated and does not know what to do. She is distraught wanting to know where all the animals have gone. Can someone please help, and give her some news? Call Catherine on 07930308548 . Visit Timbersbrook www.timbersbrook.org.uk
I too cannot believe that Leo has been treated with such disrespect. It will be interesting to see how all unfolds and what is truly underneath such a expensive and time consuming action. Many services are being cut and Cheshire East know this well, once again Leo provides sponsered days out for projects such as the David Lewis centre. Certain individuals within the council need to look within themselves and think about where their time, money and energy would have been better invested. Homelessness, childrens services, mental health, community projects. How much money and how many jobs could have been saved with the money it has cost to devestate the Timbersbrook project, as this has been going on for more than four years. Its a time for change and we have a responsibily to understand our own personal actions, fears and beliefs. Integrity is important when dealing with others there is always a way out of mistakes a way back, opportunity to admit we are wrong and make the changes needed. Please look within, if your know the relevant individuals from the council help them to see there is still a chance to save this wonderful project, also what can you offer to support Timbersbrook.
