Newsletters26th May Bear ManiaWell Bearmania has been a great success hasn't it!! My favourite way of keeping up is by following 'The Bears of Congleton' on Facebook where people are reporting their experiences of the bears - great fun! 'Our Bear'Huge thanks to Petra Lea and Mike Dixon for decorating our bear for us. She's currently in the shop at the bus stop end of Capitol Walk. After much discussion she's been named Scarlet Pearmain (1883) which is a Cheshire Apple variety! Photos attached!

Congleton Apple Juice wins Action for Market Towns Environmental Award for the NorthYes, we have won a great award for our apple juice see the attached article for more information!
David AttenboroughI'm a big fan of common sense! Follow this link David Attenborough speaks out about the stupidity of not facing up to the issue of population growth and what we might do about it. Its at the heart of sustainability and in my mind he's absolutely right, see what you think.
Dane Hydro SchemeBasically, after we had been awarded the £250,000 we had the change of government and all grants were withdrawn for review. We heard in April that we were getting the grant back but less 10% so £225,000. Right now we are just completing the contractual negotiations to accept the grant and then we'll be back considering how to deliver the project and publishing the community share scheme later this year. If all goes well it'll become a reality in 2012.
Kind regards, Peter.
