Dawn Gibbins and friends preparing for the event
Beartown bears all in aid of BearmaniaJust like Coventry, earlier this year Congleton 'Bear' town has decided to have its own 'Bare' Lady Day to launch Bearmania on 21st May. We expect the streets to be crowded.Early this morning (April 1st) Delightful miss Dee Kup (pictured here outside the Lion and Swan hotel in West Street just before her full reveal) was chosen from a team of ten local ladies to pace the forthcoming Bearmania Trail on a white charger and wearing nothing but a big smile. The procession, led by Miss Kup, was followed on foot by her nine runners up who paced the trail on foot, in a real 'bare' town spirit. Dee's maid of honour, Clea Vage (pictured on the Home Page facing the Town Hall) spoke for all the ladies, "We've had a wonderul empowering morning, wandering around the local beauty spots in nothing but our blushes. We do hope lots of people will turn out to cheer us on 21s May. In fact, we're hoping that all the ladies of Congleton will join us in the buff for a true Baretown cellebration."
