Man rescues bear!

Intrepid Paul Bates continues his Superman feats, rescuing Pallet Force Bear from monsoon conditions, raging torrents and incoming tide - and still manages to keep his glasses on!

Mindless idiots had nothing better to do than spoil others' enjoyment by steaing the bear and leaving him injured in the River Dane.

Thanks Paul - like all the volunteers who have given up so much of their spare time, you are always there in an emergency. It really is appreciated.

Paul's version of events

"The water was not cool but bloody cold. The bear was on he far side of the weir with the steep bank and even holding Sue by the ankles and with a rope around her waist we could not reach the bear."

"A gardener over the other side offered us the opportunity to climb down the less steep bank adjacent to the retirement home, however that meant wading across the river's entire width. As Sue was still dangling from the rope on the other bank I thought I should do it, (reluctantly) only because I couldn't be bothered to go round and cut Sue down. Resulting in  the picture you see."

"I do hope Sue has managed to get down off the rope as she has not come into the office this morning."
