East Cheshire Chamber Business Awards 2010

 

The first East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards were held on Friday, 5th March at Cranage Hall. On a highly successful night 13 prestigious awards were presented to East Cheshire businesses in recognition of their outstanding achievements and commitment to excellence over the past year.

Mr David Watson, Chamber Manager of East Cheshire Chamber, Mr David McGifford, Acting Chief Executive of South East Cheshire Enterprise and Adele Fletcher, Training Director of East Cheshire Chamber Training presented the glittering ceremony.

The well sought after trophies were presented by the evenings sponsors; Cheshire East Council, Nat West, Siemens, Triad, Blue Bell BMW Crewe, Auto Legal Protection Services, Groundwork Cheshire, Visit Chester & Cheshire, Plus Dane, Mitten Clarke, Franklyn Financial Management, Dane Mill Business Centre, Acorn Occupational Health, North West Regional Development Agency and EN Works. Special thanks also goes to Balloon Box 2 of Congleton and i2i Photography for providing the balloons and photography on the night.

 

East Cheshire Hospice, the chosen charity of East Cheshire Chamber, also benefited with £2,150 being raised for them with a prize draw and auction by Bernard Rooney from Blue Bell BMW Crewe of a Lions Rugby Shirt and the use of a BMW car for the weekend.

 

The Winner of the Business of the Year Award, Auto Legal Protection Services, also received a cheque for £500.00 to donate to a worthy cause of their choice.

Winner of the Accommodation Provider of the Year award –The Alexandra Court Hotel

Winner of the Professional Service Provider of the Year award – Franklyn Financial Management

This Award is for the Professional Service Provider who has excelled in helping their clients to achieve their objectives through leadership and innovative working.

 

Winner of the Manufacturer of the Year award –  Berisfords

This award is for the company that has risen to the challenge of
manufacturing and has shown exceptional capability in this regard.

 

 

 

Winner of the Business Commitment to Training Award – Diamond Electronics

This award is for the company that has demonstrated a real commitment to the training, personal development and motivation of staff.

 

Winner of the Environmental Company of the Year award –
Green Networks

This award is for the company that has demonstrated the most ecologically aware processes in its sphere of operation.

 

Winner of the New Business of the Year award (max 3yrs trading) –  Zeus Public Relations

This Award is for the Business Start-up that has demonstrated its ability to progress and develop.

 

Winner of the Business Person of the Year award – Steve Brooks (Quality Cuts Ltd)

The Award for the person (employed or self employed) who has made an outstanding contribution to their company during the last year.

 

Winner of the Exporter of the Year award –  Genesys International

The Award for the company that has achieved exceptional export success over the last twelve months.

 

Winner of the Customer Service Award – Triad UK

The Award for the Company that demonstrates a commitment to continuously improving its standards of customer care, with examples of customer care that exceeds customers’ expectations and has a concise and well implemented customer care policy.

 

Winner of the Chamber Member of the Year award – Blue Bell BMW Crewe

This award is for the chamber member that has embraced the full potential of chamber membership. Showing a commitment to developing membership, attending networking events, using chamber benefits, working with the chamber on it’s various projects and trying to develop working partnerships within the membership.

 

Winner of the Good Taste Award for the Best Eatery – The Brownlow Inn

This award is aimed at restaurants, cafes and pub restaurants. The winner will offer excellent customer service in a friendly but professional environment.

 

Winner of the Special Achievement award – The Congleton Business Group

This is a very special award; The winners of this award have been supported by Congleton Town Council, the only Town Council in Cheshire East that is a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Congleton Town Council is very proactive in its efforts to engage with businesses and as a result a special group of people have come together who are working with the Manchester Metropolitan University and other organisations to put Congleton on the business map.
