TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, which brings together some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share what they are most passionate about. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design – three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future.

Since then, its scope has become ever broader, showcasing ideas that matter in any discipline– science, arts, politics, global issues, media, architecture, music and much more.
