Congleton Partnership Business Support Group

Background

The Congleton Business Group was formed in June 2008 and is an association of Businesses and Individuals committed to working together to improve the quality of life and future prosperity of Congleton Town.

The group is responsible to the Congleton Town Partnership Executive and shares the same vision:
"To work together to ensure the sustainability of Congleton as a vibrant, distinctive Market Town, which is able to provide facilities to attract and retain Business, Workers, Residents and Visitors."
The structure of the Business Group is based on an Executive Steering Committee and an Action Team sub group. It supports and works closely with the Marketing Group and the Chamber of Commerce.

The Challenge

We believe that Congleton’s future role in Cheshire East should be the new Authority’s enterprise hub. Congleton needs to protect and grow existing Business while developing a structure that allows entrepreneurship and enterprise to thrive and help to diversify the local economy.

We need to ensure that land, premises and infrastructure exists so as not to impede growth and inward investment. There is also a need to improve access for workers and residents to further and higher education, related training and life long learning.

Statement of Intent

We are committed to our statement of intent which identifies our priorities, our objectives, what we can do and what we will support. The Business Community of Congleton will continue to play its full part in ensuring that the town achieves its full potential.
