Beartown Christmas Lights (with a special visit from Santa)
It all happened on 27th November. Click here for the photo page The event was so well received that next year's aim is to repeat the success (with a few new surprises!). Date? 26th November, 2010. Put it in your diary now!
The original announcement:Santa has asked us to remind everyone that he will be joining the people of Congleton on Friday, 27th November for our grand celebrations when the Christmas lights go on. And there’s so much going on around the centre. Lots of fun and lots to eat. Everything from fair rides to trampolining, from brass bands to the Loud Mouth Women’s choir.
The traditional lantern procession sets off at 5.15 from the Lion and Swan, led by Santa himself, who will be coming all the way from Lapland.
And we will all have an opportunity to remember our own Sue Dorman, who sadly died this year, with a tribute rendering of “Riversong”. Our thanks to the Town Council and Congleton Community Projects, who organise this event
