Congleton Beartown Market FishingCompetition

The Sun Shone on Congleton’s Young Anglers

Moreton Fisheries were the fabulous hosts for The CITY MARKETS Beartown Fishing Competition. Supported by Plus Dane Housing. Youngsters in the categories of under 11’s and 12 to 17’s enjoyed summer conditions and some very good catches. The Under 11’s fished the Cottage Pool and the over’s Pecks Pool. Organisers Royston Beard and Paul Bates were delighted with the turn out of both anglers and parents. Lawrence Hodson the Congleton Markets manager presented the trophies and marvelled at the skill of the young anglers. The match was fished from 10 am to 1 pm followed by the weigh in and presentations.

Paul Bates said “Moreton Fisheries were fabulous hosts; the organisers ran a well planned event. We have through discussions with City Markets , The Rotary, Plus Dane housing , The Police and the Fire Brigade secured the future of this competition for the foreseeable future in a larger format which is fabulous news . I would like to thank all the sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible.
