Comedy Comes To Congleton!Event date: Fri 27th MayThe Lion and Swan Hotel on Swan Bank have got together with a leading comedy promoter to launch The Congleton Comedy Club. Starting on Fri 27th May the new night will be held on the last Friday of every month. The line up for the first show includes; Steve Royle holds the world record for balancing a Christmas tree on his chin. 'nuff said! As seen on Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere. He's supported Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Steve Coogan and performed at The Royal Variety Show. If comedy juggler Royle's good enough for royals then he's definitely good enough for The Congleton Comedy Club! Steve was also described as "a brilliant comedian" by none other than Peter Kay in his last book. Barry Dodds who has forged an enviable reputation for himself over the past few years, charming audiences nationwide, with his uniquely tailored combination of disarming Geordie wit and wry, down-to-earth observational humour. He also holds the dubious distinction of being the first ever comedian to appear on Luxemburgh TV! Support comes from Leicester's Adnan Ahmed and Oldham's Rob Riley. The show starts at 8.30pm prompt and tickets are available online at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/118259 or from the venue at £10 or £12 on the night. Further info on 01260 273115
