Congleton firm ‘buys locally’ and helps to keep unemployment rates down

A Congleton-based HR outsourcing firm are helping to sustain the low rate of unemployment across Cheshire East by sourcing staff for their clients from the pool of unemployed talent in their ‘home’ town. 

Bridestones HR who are based in Riverside Mill, were employed by Mozo Media Ltd, a retail distribution company, as an outsourced HR team in May 2010 when an increase in sales justified Mozo opening their own warehouse, also in Congleton. 

The company’s sales have continued on their upward trend, enabling Mozo to defy the economic downturn and increase their workforce almost ten-fold.  From an initial team of 5, the warehouse now supports a team of 45, all of whom are resident in and around the town and were recruited with support from the team at Bridestones. 

The experienced team of HR professionals have managed the entire recruitment process, whilst also providing full HR support and advice to the Mozo team on such things as contracts of employment and performance management.  It’s also significant to note that many of the new recruits have been taken from long term unemployment and that for a substantial number this is their first step back into employment for over 6 months. 

Meanwhile, the Bridestones HR team, the majority of whom are also Congleton residents, are delighted to be supporting one of the town’s fastest growing Companies and especially pleased to be able to help get members of its local community back into employment.
