Congleton Bearmania - breaking news

Ellen Senior who looks after the PR for Bearmania reports that Congleton's Bearmania continues its surge in popularity and it doesn't launch until May 21st.

Meet the artists

A meet the artists event was held at Victoria Mill on the 3rd of March when local companies , churches, schools and community groups who had not finalised their designs met with the local artists to add the finishing touches. The event hosted by Jo Money from The Congleton Community Projects Group was once again a great success.Catering was provided free of charge in support of the event by Top Nosh on West Street.

Designs are being kept tightly under wraps by artists and bear owners and sponsors alike. Paul , Sue, Dawn and Ellen from the Bearmania Mania team were in attendance to give details of destinations for bears ,the bear trail and fixtures and fittings.

Paul said " The people of Congleton never cease to amaze me with their support and their creative juices were  certainly flowing .I have looked at some fabulous designs this evening and the Town is certainly going to be alive come May."

3,000 excited children

The Schools will all have their bears delivered over the next ten days which means we have 3000 excited children to placate. We have only 8 of the five foot 2011 limited edition bears left to go into the 5 month public exhibition, followed by a events for the Bears in 2012.Paint your own cast bears one foot bears are available at £40 plus VAT and Bronze one foot bears at £50 plus VAT .

Couple this with bear chocolates, bear biscuits and we can announce that we have also just successfully negotiated a bears paw  heart soap.

Come on - join the team

Ellen said " we are looking for members of the public to join the touch up team who will service the bears while they are on display its another great way for the community to get involved , we are also going to have a black tie ball to close the event on the 8th of October at The Lion and Swan with a charity auction , numbers are limited to eighty eight so book early at £25 per ticket they will go quickly with a 3 course dinner ball tickets can be booked via ellen@ravensworthestates.co.uk  bears ordered via Paul on paul@jigsawrtm.co.uk  or on 01260291881
