Finlay Forster-Davies

I've been enjoying art for as long as I can remember and the Art Foundation course I did at Mid-Cheshire enthused and motivated me to experiment with all sorts of medias, doing this developed my skills and reaffirmed my love for art. Now I predominantly work with acrylic and mixed media taking inspiration from the landscapes and nature I have photographed. My paintings vary from raw and abstract to more refined and recognisable but they are usually full of colour.

In 2008 I was selected to attend the Young Artists in Italy Gifted and Talented Trip to Tuscany where we explored Florence and the Uffizi. I particularly enjoyed drawing from the landscape at the Fattoria in the Tuscan hills which was when I realised I favoured working from nature. More recently I have visited Dali's Theatre Museum in Figueres, Spain and the major galleries of New York.

I had a self-portrait exhibited in the Keele University Open Exhibition last year and this year I had two landscape paintings selected to be displayed in the same show. I also had some work displayed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; some of which was sold to a man, and from this a series of unexpected events came about, which lead to me being invited to do this project. I have not been involved with anything like the Bear Mania project before but I look forward to a new experience.

Cheers!

I have not experienced anything like the Bearmania project before but if selected, look forward to a new experience. This sounds like a great thing to be involved in.
